EQV Advisory Welcomes Katie Skurski, CFA, as Relationship Manager

Raleigh-Based RIA Marks a Significant Milestone with the Addition of its First Non-Founding Shareholder

RALEIGH, NC — EQV Advisory, a privately held Raleigh, NC based Registered Investment Advisor, is pleased to announce the addition of Katie Skurski, CFA, as the firm's first non-founding shareholder. This hire represents a meaningful step in EQV Advisory’s growth and its continued commitment to delivering an exceptional, client-centered experience.

Skurski is joining the firm as an equity owner and Relationship Manager. With nearly 30 years of experience in personal finance and investment management, she reinforces the combination of technical expertise and emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills on the EQV team. Her educational and professional designations, broad industry background, and proven track record of building long-term client trust make her an exceptional fit for this role.

"First and foremost, it was the people," said Skurski of her decision to join EQV. "Rob, Mark, and Larry are professionals of the highest caliber — and genuinely great people to work with. EQV is also structured exactly the way I believe a firm should be built."

Skurski's approach to client service is to serve as the "quarterback" of a client's financial life — coordinating portfolio construction with tax efficient planning to drive long-term outcomes. Her philosophy is straightforward: put the client's interests first, act with integrity in every interaction, and communicate clearly and consistently.

"Trust is built when clients see that you are working diligently on their behalf — often behind the scenes — and making thoughtful decisions in their best interest," Skurski said. "Regular, clear communication reinforces that commitment and helps clients feel confident in the partnership."

Her decision to join EQV was also deeply personal. After many years with a Tennessee-based firm, Skurski was eager to return closer to home, deepen her connection to the Triangle's business community, and be more present with her family during an important chapter of life.

A native of Knoxville, TN, Katie holds a degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa in addition to a Master’s in Business Administration from Duke University. She is professionally involved in the CFA Society of NC in addition to serving on both for profit and non-profit leadership roles in her community.

“I could not be more enthusiastic about Katie joining our firm” said Rob Ragsdale, EQV Advisory’s CEO. “Having known Katie almost three decades going back to business school, I know firsthand what a phenomenal blend of experience, expertise, and interpersonal skills she brings to our partnership starting day one.”

"EQV's commitment to acting in the best interest of each client and to ensuring clients understand and feel connected to the decisions affecting their financial lives is foundational to how I've always approached my work," Skurski said. "That alignment made this an easy decision."
